Components
- 1½ cups (tea) of unsalted, skinless peanuts (approximately 250 g)
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of water (tea)
- A quarter teaspoon of baking soda
Setup mode
- Line a large baking sheet. In a bowl, combine the sugar and baking soda. Boil the water in a jar—keep everything near the stove as the preparation is very quick.
- Put the peanuts in a medium-sized pan and cook over low heat. Stir for approximately 10 minutes until they are lightly toasted. Add the sugar mixture along with bicarbonate and water, then mix thoroughly. Continue stirring for an additional 15 minutes or until the mixture becomes sugary.
- Spread the peanuts evenly on a baking sheet and allow them to cool fully before serving or storing. When kept in an airtight container, they stay crispy for up to a week.
